Job Duties:

  • Serves as charge nurse and assumes responsibility for staffing and/or care of patients within a unit.

  • Assists in maintaining patient care standards by supervising and directing activities of subordinate nurses engaged in quality assurance, infection control, and utilization review activities.

  • Receives physicians instructions regarding patient care and ensures that orders are transmitted to other units as needed.

  • Makes regular patient rounds to observe and assess patients physical conditions and behaviors, evaluates the quality of care provided, and ensures proper documentation of treatment and nursing observations.

  • Reviews nursing plan of care for all patients within a unit and ensures that treatments and therapies specified in the plans are carried out.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational

Compensation: This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $33.91 per hour, plus $4.00 per hour in Premium Pay for hours physically worked. It also qualifies for shift differential pay, with rates varying based on shift, day, and holiday schedules.

**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
