Position Highlights:
- Position: Surgical First Assistant Certified - Main Operating Room
- Location: Arlington Heights, IL
- Full Time/ Part time: Full time, 40 hours/week
- Hours: 7am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday
- Required Travel: No
What you will need:
- 2 Years Surgical Technologist with experience in first assisting required.
- Surgical Technologist with experience in first assisting required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST®) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required
- CSFA required
- Associates Degree Health Administration preferred
What you will do:
- Providing skilled assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, including but not limited to retracting, suturing, and hemostasis.
- Maintaining a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgeon throughout the procedure.
- Preparing and organizing surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies required for each procedure.
- Ensuring that all instruments are properly sterilized and in excellent working condition.
- Assisting in patient preparation, positioning, and draping to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Monitoring patients vital signs and provide appropriate care during the surgical procedure.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures, including instrument counts, specimens, and patient information.
- Documenting any unexpected events or complications during surgery for review and analysis.
- Collaborating effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicating clearly and efficiently to ensure a coordinated surgical process.
