The Stainless Steel Finishing Grinder would support the activities of the Operations department by setting up, maintaining, operating, and cleaning finishing equipment to ensure a high-quality surface finish that meets specifications. We have a 5S environment, a very clean production floor, and great people to work with!
Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Thursday 6 am - 3 pm & Friday 6 am - Noon
Responsibilities:
- Set up grinding equipment, select appropriate grinding wheels or attachments, and adjust tools for optimal surface finishing of stainless steel components.
- Operate stationary and handheld grinders, polishers, and other finishing tools to remove surface oxidation, burrs, weld spatter, and foreign matter from stainless steel parts.
- Finish weld seams and surface areas to match grain direction and achieve a smooth, consistent finish per drawings and specifications.
- Support our lean manufacturing process with 5S practices to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to ISO 9001 company standards, work instructions, and procedures.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months or more related experience in metal finishing or grinding
- Ability to read blueprints preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Dependability a must
