Cyber Security Operations Specialist

The Cyber Operations Support Specialist provides operational and technical support for the Cyber Security department, focusing on protecting data, networks, and systems from cyber threats. This role involves tasks like incident response, security monitoring, and maintaining secure system configurations.

The Cyber Operations Specialist will support process development to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes. They will also support internal operational coordination between Cyber Security and IT departments.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

• Provides support to the Cyber Security Operations Manager and department lead(s).

• Assist in preparation and maintaining department documents such as Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Department Internal Procedure (DIP), and various department tracking and monitoring tools.

• Interface with internal functional teams and external customers for planning, prioritization, and issue resolution of overall activities in the support of and achievement of PMRF cyber security compliance goals.

• Review, evaluate and provide assessments of technical and non-technical program reports; research specific areas and prepare findings.

• Help develop processes used for internal and external planning and collaboration

• Coordinate with colleagues and internal partners to ensure all parties are aligned on actions and expectations.

• Providing technical and administrative support for the day-to-day operations.

• Performs additional duties as directed by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

• 2 years of IT experience.

• Must have strong people and communication skills.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Must possess the following PC skills: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

Education:

•  Bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline

• DoD Approved 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.

Compensation

The annual starting salary for the position is between $80K - $90K. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
