Job Description:
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Staffing Coordinator to join our team at our reputable nursing home facility. The Staffing Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of our residents while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the staffing schedule for nursing personnel, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, to ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts.
- Collaborate with department managers to assess staffing needs and adjust schedules accordingly based on census, acuity, and other factors.
- Recruit, interview, and hire nursing staff as needed, ensuring compliance with hiring policies and procedures.
- Conduct orientation and training sessions for new hires, providing information on facility policies, procedures, and job expectations.
- Maintain accurate records of staff credentials, certifications, and licensures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and track employee attendance, time-off requests, and scheduling changes, addressing any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff and management, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and facility policies related to staffing and employee relations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys as needed, ensuring adherence to standards of care and best practices.
Requirements:
- Experience in staffing coordination or scheduling, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- Strong understanding of staffing principles, scheduling software, and timekeeping systems.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing staffing requirements in nursing home facilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computerized scheduling systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a focus on resident-centered care.
- Current knowledge of industry trends and best practices in staffing and workforce management.
