The Mechanical Artist is responsible for crafting product design specifications and builds production mechanical files for product packaging in addition to providing pre-press support. Prepares design specifications including height, length, weight, color, texture, and materials to send to vendor/manufacturer for samples and prototypes.

• Build print-ready mechanicals for all product packaging
• Collaborate with Design partners to bring together their vision of product, ensuring specifications are accurate and within realistic parameters
• Attend and participate in Design Turn Over meetings for assigned projects
• Review supplied assets, build mechanicals, evaluate and understand/clarify content details (i.e. art, copy, codes, specifications, etc.)
• Proofread all work prior to submitting to Manager and/or Design Team for review
• Review, and acquire approvals on design layout and specifications from Design Team
• Responsible for owning any change requests related to regulatory updates or projects that require updated files/mechanical requests
• Own accurate input changes received from mechanical routing
• Maintain organization of production server
• Prepare and provide PDF files for routing
• Prepare and release mechanical files to vendors

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of mechanical, technical or production design experience
• Must understand print production and appropriate file set up
• Must have strong Adobe Illustrator skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
• Ability to handle and prioritize own projects/workload
• Standout colleague with ability to work in a highly collaborate design environment
• Demonstrate curiosity and desire to learn
• Be an effective listener

• Bachelors degree of equivalent experience
