Job Description: Mental Health Client Referral Specialist

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Client Referral Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining a robust network of referral sources to ensure a consistent flow of appropriate clients to our mental health services. This role involves building relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other relevant entities, as well as managing the referral process efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of mental health services, and a passion for connecting individuals with the care they need.

Responsibilities:

• Referral Network Development:
• Identify and establish relationships with potential referral sources, including hospitals, clinics, community centers, schools, and social service agencies.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of referral sources.
• Conduct outreach activities, such as presentations, networking events, and community meetings, to promote our services.
• Stay informed about community resources and mental health trends to identify new referral opportunities.
• Referral Management:
• Receive and process client referrals in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct initial assessments to determine client eligibility and needs.
• Match clients with appropriate mental health services and providers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and referral documentation.
• Track referral outcomes and generate reports on referral activity.
• Ensure HIPAA and client confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Relationship Building and Communication:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for referral sources, providing information and support.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and providers to ensure smooth transitions and coordinated care.
• Address any referral-related issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with internal mental health professionals to optimize the referral process.
• Community Outreach and Education:
• Participate in community outreach events to raise awareness of mental health services.
• Develop and distribute informational materials about our programs and services.
• Provide education and training to referral sources on mental health topics and referral procedures.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of available resources and programs.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Collect and analyze data on referral sources and client outcomes.
• Prepare regular reports on referral activity and effectiveness.
• Identify trends and areas for improvement in the referral process.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in referral coordination, sales, case management, or community outreach, preferably in a mental health setting.
• Understanding of mental health services and resources.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse populations.
• Proficiency in using computer software and databases.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and client confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of community resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with specific populations (e.g., adolescents, veterans, individuals with substance use disorders).
• Bilingual or multilingual skills.
• Experience with electronic health records.
• Established relationships with local community organizations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
