Visit us at: www.OdysseyLogistics.com/careers About the Job: The position of Customs Entry Writer will have primary responsibility for the preparation of customers import shipments, FCL and LCL and air, from origin to destination in compliance with company standards, customs, and government regulations. In This Role, You Will:

• Ensure that all required documents are received from customers for clearance of the shipment through US. Customs and any PGA that may be required.
• Transmitting clearance data to CBP via ABI.
• Pay any collect charges due on shipments as required by customers.
• Track all shipments to confirm ETA.
• Provide updates to customers regarding the status of their shipments.
• Work with forwarders and steamship lines to receive arrival details on all shipments.
• Billing of clearance charges, any charges paid out on a customers behalf, etc.
• All other duties and projects assigned.

• Previous Import or logistics experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Employee must have or achieve through on-the-job training:

o Ocean and air freight industry information o Carrier selection (ocean, air and domestic) o Knowledge to identify specialized cargo (hazardous, OOG, overweight) o Inco terms o NVOCC terminology and methods o Container specifications o Other/Partner government agency requirements o World Geography o Be able to read and understand the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)

• Ability to direct and empower staff to meet deadlines and successfully meet customer needs. From conversations, written requests, and multi sourced information, individual coordinates and services customer account through written correspondence, phone, e-mail, and fax.
• Basic mathematical computations. Appropriately add and compute fees, taxes, and other charges. Time zone determinations and carrier schedule computations. Conversions needed for pricing calculations and how to apply to rating of ocean and air cargo bills of lading.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
