Executive Searches Consultant

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a part-time Executive Searches Consultant in the Executive Searches Department. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director of Executive Searches and will be headquartered in the Lombard office.

The IASB Executive Searches Department assists school boards and districts in hiring superintendents, assistant superintendents, business managers, and principals.

Position Summary: The Executive Searches Consultant position provides executive search consulting services to school districts across Illinois. Elected school board members are responsible for hiring and evaluating a school’s chief executive. The role of the Executive Search Consultant is to assist the client board and/or superintendent in establishing a candidate profile and manage the process from candidate sourcing through the interview, selection, and ultimate hire. The consultant may also refer the client district to other IASB services to meet a district’s needs.

Education and/or Experience Requirements: The Executive Searches Consultant position requires a bachelor’s degree; with a master’s degree a plus. At least five years of experience as an executive recruiter, school board member, and/or or public school administrator is preferred, or prior successful experience sourcing and hiring executive level positions.

The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license and a vehicle; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement will be provided.

This position requires the employee to be able to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position.

The position offers an annual hourly rate of $54 to $59 per hour. Position includes  paid time off, life insurance, and retirement benefits.
