Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Sales Associate 1, reporting to the Sales Manager, in Irwindale, CA.
This position develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of an organizations products and/or services. Works with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist in qualifying new and existing customer credit and account status.
- Conduct in-depth market analyses to enhance our competitive advantage.
- Enter and update contract information in the company ERP system.
- Conduct frequent customer visits.
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with customers and clients.
- Resolve contractual customer problems and issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across divisions.
- Research upcoming projects and submit strategic bid proposals.
- Negotiate, prepare, and manage purchase agreements.
- With recommendations from the Sales Manager, independently provide knowledgeable technical support for customers within a geographic area.
- Research and provide contractual product specifications across divisions.
- Full product understanding (PMA, cutbacks, AC, emulsions).
- Master ERP system.
Position Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of the Asphalt Sales function and department processes.
- Proficiency with computers and experience with the Microsoft Office group of programs.
- Possess a valid driver’s license without limitations.
- Possess the ability to work independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Proven record as a strong team player.
- Must be able to convey a positive company image of integrity and professionalism.
- Possess excellent customer service skills
