Astro Pak is the nations leading precision cleaning and passivation contractor specializing in on-site cleaning of high purity gas and fluid systems, as well as precision cleaning of components and hardware at the company’s Cleanroom facilities. Astro Pak provides services to over 15 sectors including: Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Semiconductor, and other selected Industrial markets. The company, founded in 1959, has performed on-site precision chemical cleaning in every State of the Union as well as several projects in Asia, continental Europe, England, Ireland and Mexico.

The Technical Sales Manager will call upon customers and prospects within their defined territory to service accounts and capture new sales opportunities. This position visits accounts, creates value by helping customers solve their problems, establishes, and maintains relationships with clients, attends industry events and performs client education seminars.

Salary base is up to 120k and variable compensation is approximately 50-60k based on historical years

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Search for new customers and develop long-term relationships.
  • Use Technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support to our clients
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Team and Estimator to identify and track all opportunities in the territory
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established quotas.
  • Develop and manage Annual Regional Strategic Sales Plan.
  • Provides Estimator and/or Operations Manager with quantifiable scope of work to create and ensure proper bid / proposal. Assist in preparing bids if necessary.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Able to travel and stay overnight as required for customer visits, job walks, trade shows, industry events, etc.
  • Analyze and implement projects in compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws

Qualifications: Education/Training/Certifications: Must have a 4-year degree, preferably in business or technical field. Individual must possess good mechanical aptitude, excellent presentation/communication skills and the ability to work under minimal or no supervision.

Related Experience: Have a successful and quantifiable track record (6-10 years) in a quota-driven sales and business development capacity. Demonstrate a knack for prospecting and selling technical services. Familiarity with the Pharmaceutical or Water Systems industries is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written (training / presentations /report writing)
  • Ability to interact at all levels of company and with people of various backgrounds and experience
  • Sales-driven, self-motivated, energetic, persuasive, organized, independent, with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to develop effective sales strategies
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and CRM database preferred
  • Must possess top negotiating skills and be able to build relationships
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Good listener and communicator both internally / externally
  • Strategic and creative thinker
  • Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the U.S. Export Control Laws

License: Possess a valid class “C” driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel overnight by land and/or air up to 60% of the time

Environment

  • Primary environment will be an office environment
  • Must be able to perform above listed duties/responsibilities in the field and/or client site or field offices
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical partsand the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals and disagreeable odors
